This is a piece I did for some friends in Boise, ID. The background colors match the colors of two other paintings it will hang with, and the graffiti is tailored to their family. It includes their wedding anniversary, the kids' birthdays, the dog's name, and other personal details.
I painted this for a close friend. I used watercolor pencils for the background, and acrylics for the buildings. I thought that using acrylics for the background would be too overwhelming for the colors I wanted. The orange is the color in her kitchen, and the green is the outside color of the house. I added personal details in the graffiti, including some inside jokes, her birthday, and nicknames.
This was for my niece. At age 12 she got her own room, and chose bright, fun colors for the walls. We choose the background colors to keep with the same brightness and add contrast.
A painter friend of mine had a gap between some paintings on his wall, and didn't want to paint something himself to fill in the space. This piece is painted on wood- I had a strip that fit the tiny dimensions he needed- 2" by 6". He chose the sage and tan colors, and opted for the watercolor-look background. His name and some personal references are included in the graffiti.
